Artist Bio

​

Nancy Steele-Makasci creates stark black and white images that interpret the duality of universal human themes such as life/death, male/female, good/evil, power/weakness and vocal/silent. She states, “Death, sadness, silence and resignation are recurring themes within my work.” The artist earned a MFA in Printmaking from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, as well as, a MA in Art and a BA in Art Education from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. Nancy exhibits her creative works regularly and is currently the Coordinator of Fine Arts/Associate Professor of Art teaching printmaking in the Department of Art & Design at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.
